Dudley Borough Local Plan Scoping Consultation Document

Ends on 10th September 2026 (56 days remaining)

10. Call for Sites

To ensure the Council’s evidence on land availability within the borough is as up to date as possible for the new Local Plan, we are inviting submissions on potential new development sites for all potential uses including, but not limited to:

  • housing (including housing to meet the needs of specific groups, such as older persons).
  • gypsy, traveller and travelling showpeople pitches/plots
  • employment (including industrial and storage and distribution uses).
  • town centre uses such as retail and leisure.
  • waste management and minerals related sites.
  • infrastructure provision, such as health centres or education proposals.
  • mixed use developments incorporating one or more of the above.
  • burial sites.

The Council would welcome submissions for any other uses not identified in the list above which stakeholders think should be considered for allocations within the new Dudley Borough Local Plan e.g. energy infrastructure.

The Council also invites submissions on areas that may warrant additional protections, such as potential Local Green Spaces.

The Call for Sites consultation is running alongside this Scoping Paper consultation. The process has regard to the latest national guidance on running a Call for Sites.[13]

NOTE: As the Council is starting a new Local Plan process, you should not rely on any previous site submissions as part of previous local plan and Call for Sites consultations. Any sites that you wish to be considered under the new Local Plan should be submitted in response to this latest consultation.
