Part One: Spatial Strategy and Policies (Regulation 19)

Representation ID: 1028

Received: 27/11/2024

Respondent: Dennis R Whittaker

Representation Summary:

What is meant by managing and minimising long-stay Car parking in Town Centres? There is an aim to encourage more residential development in Town Centres and, therefore, sufficient long-stay Car Parking must be provided for those new residents. How can minimising Car Parking do that? The assumption that many Drivers would dispose of their Cars and resort to Public Transport and/or Bicycles is delusional and just plain stupid. In Brierley Hill we already have Office to Flat conversions where no Parking is available and Cars have been parked on Pavements, double-yellow lines and so on. That's the real world.
